General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Catherine Clancy Mandell is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Argand. Previously, Ms. Mandell was Counsel for American Express, where she advised the company’s Global Commercial Services business and earned the American Express and Harvard Certificate in Leadership Excellence. Before joining American Express, Ms. Mandell worked as a corporate attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. She focused her practice on the structuring, offering and ongoing management of private equity and hedge funds, as well as M&A, securities and regulatory compliance. Ms. Mandell has also worked as in-house counsel on secondment at HPS Investment Partners (formerly known as Highbridge Principal Strategies), advising the firm’s private credit platform. Ms. Mandell earned her LL.M. in Taxation, with Distinction, and her J.D. from Georgetown Law, where she was a Global Law Scholar and received The Tax Lawyer Michael Mulroney Award for Outstanding Service. Ms. Mandell earned her B.S. in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University, where she received the United States Trust Company Award in Finance for Scholarship and Service and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma.

Riley McCabe

Riley McCabe is an Associate of Argand. Previously he was an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse in New York, where he focused on M&A and capital market transactions in the Global Industrials Group. Mr. McCabe graduated from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with a B.S.B.A in Finance and Management.

Howard D. Morgan

Howard D. Morgan
Partner

Howard D. Morgan is a Partner and Co-Founder of Argand as well as a member of the Management Committee and Investment Committee. He has been active in mid-market private equity for over 30 years. Mr. Morgan was the President of Castle Harlan from 2010 to 2015 and joined Castle Harlan in 1996. From 1998 until 2015, Mr. Morgan was also a member of the Board and associated Board committees of CHAMP. Previously, Mr. Morgan was a partner at The Ropart Group, a private equity investment firm, and began his career as an Associate at Allen & Company, Inc.

Mr. Morgan is currently a Director of Concrete Pumping Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBCP) and OASE and a former director of over one dozen companies, including Industrea Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: INDU), Shelf Drilling, Pretium Packaging, IDQ Holdings, Securus Technologies, Baker & Taylor, Polypipe Global Holdings, Austar United Communications Ltd., Norcast Wear Solutions, AmeriCast Technologies, Ion Track Instruments, Land ‘N’ Sea Distributing, Penrice Soda Products, and various CHAMP entities. He is a Director and past Chairman of the Harvard Business School Club of New York, Chairman of the Parkinson’s Foundation, a Director of the Alexander Hamilton Institute and the World Press Institute, and a Director and Treasurer of the Friends of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Mr. Morgan was a Director and officer of the Harvard Business School Alumni Board from 2006-2011. He received his B.A. from Hamilton College in Mathematics and Government and his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Tariq Osman

Tariq Osman is a Partner and Co-Founder of Argand as well as a member of its Management and Investment Committees. Previously he was a Managing Director at Castle Harlan. Prior to joining Castle Harlan, Mr. Osman worked with Castle Harlan’s affiliate, CHAMP Private Equity, where he focused on private equity transactions across a wide range of industries, including portfolio management work for International Energy Services, Blue Star Group and Austar United Communications. Previously, Mr. Osman worked at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant. In this role, he advised clients across multiple industrial sectors on strategy and operational improvements. Mr. Osman began his career in Australia as an engineer at Gutteridge, Haskins & Davey, working on oil and gas, mining and government telecommunications infrastructure projects. Mr. Osman’s experience also includes charitable business development work in Southern Africa with non-governmental organization, TechnoServe. In this role, Mr. Osman advised the Mozambican government and local entrepreneurs on various agricultural projects, including the co-founding and financing of one of Mozambique’s largest fruit exporters, Citrum.

Mr. Osman is currently a Director of Brintons Carpets (Chairman), Concrete Pumping Holdings (Vice Chairman, NASDAQ: BBCP) and Sigma Electric Manufacturing. He is also a former Director of the Blue Star Group, Caribbean Restaurants, Citrum, Gold Star Foods (Chairman), Hercules Offshore, Industrea Acquisition Corporation (NASDAQ: INDU), International Energy Services and Shelf Drilling. He holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton Graduate School of Business, a Masters of Engineering from the University of Adelaide and a Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

Dino Sawaya is a Principal of Argand. Previously, Mr. Sawaya worked at Castle Harlan’s affiliate, CHAMP Private Equity, where his responsibilities included the origination and assessment of potential investment opportunities, transaction execution and portfolio management of a number of investee companies including Accolade Wines, oOh!media, International Energy Services, Golding Contractors and LCR Group. Prior to joining CHAMP, Mr. Sawaya was a top ranked Investment Banking Analyst at Deutsche Bank, where he focused on M&A and capital markets transactions in the industrials, infrastructure, utilities, media and financial sponsors sectors. Mr. Sawaya is a former Director of oOh!media. Mr. Sawaya graduated with Distinction from The University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Financial Economics and holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honors from The University of Sydney.

Joyce Schnoedl is a Partner, Business Development and Deal Execution of Argand. Previously, she was a Vice President of Castle Harlan, where she focused on private equity transactions across a variety of industries, including portfolio work for Gold Star Foods, Baker & Taylor, RathGibson and Perkins & Marie Callender’s. Prior to joining Castle Harlan, Ms. Schnoedl was an investment professional at J.H. Whitney & Co., where she focused on investments across consumer, specialty manufacturing, healthcare and business services sectors. Previously, she worked in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she focused on merger advisory and financing transactions for global healthcare clients. Ms. Schnoedl is involved with the portfolio management of Brintons Carpets and Concrete Pumping Holdings. She is a former director of Brintons Carpets, Sigma Electric, Gold Star Foods and Baker & Taylor. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a B.A. in Economics, and earned her M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School with first year honors.
