Argand Partners Becomes a Signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment

NEW YORK, October 27, 2021 –  Argand Partners, LP (“Argand”), the New York- and San Francisco Bay Area-based industrials private equity firm, today announced that it has become a signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment.

Argand’s investment philosophy places active ownership and being good stewards of the companies we partner with as central to our investment approach. We consider relevant environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) factors at every stage of our investment process. During our ownership, we aim to improve on existing practices, policies, and procedures to increase the sustainability and long-term value of our companies, while working to ensure equitable treatment for stakeholders and the communities in which we operate.

We became a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment to affirm our existing commitment to be responsible and active private equity owners, and incorporate ESG factors into our investment analysis, decision-making processes, and ownership practices.

“We are very pleased to welcome Argand Partners as a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment,” commented PRI’s CEO Fiona Reynolds. “The organisation’s focus on active ownership and stewardship is an important tenet of facilitating positive change on ESG principles. We look forward to working with Argand Partners to continue to drive important responsible investment considerations in the future.”

Heather Faust, Managing Partner & Co-Founder at Argand, commented, “Rigorous governance and full transparency are core to our investment approach and partnerships with management teams. We take our responsibility as business owners very seriously and invest in our companies to achieve sustainable, long-term growth. We focus throughout our ownership on reviewing and improving relevant ESG considerations and we are excited to leverage the tools and best practice of the PRI as we continue to evolve our ESG frameworks and ownership policies.”

Howard Morgan, Managing Partner & Co-Founder at Argand, noted, “Over and above our foundational principle of being a responsible owner and investor, we have always viewed ESG factors as value creators, not only risk mitigants. Argand’s philosophy and approach towards continuous improvement and operational excellence consciously incorporates enhanced ESG practices and outcomes.”

About Argand Partners
Argand Partners is a New York and San Francisco Bay Area-based middle-market private equity firm that targets stable, market-leading industrial companies with under-resourced and unrealized global growth potential. Argand companies have strong market share, sustainable competitive advantages, defensive characteristics, and significant growth potential supported by secular demand trends. The firm focuses on advanced manufacturing and business services companies with a strong U.S. nexus (headquarters, significant operations, primary growth market, or majority of revenue) and often significant global operations or expansion opportunities.

Argand is a growth-oriented control investor that engages with complex situations in order to buy well. The team employs a hands-on approach to partnering with management to create value across the investment lifecycle and help portfolio companies achieve their full potential as world-class, industry-leading companies.

In 2021, Argand was named a 2021 Top 50 PE Firm in The Middle Market™. The award is designed to acknowledge small and mid-sized leading private equity firms in the middle market. Argand is a signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment and the ILPA Diversity in Action initiative.
